As King David declines, Solomon confronts the weight of succession and the sacred responsibility of building the Temple—a task his father was never permitted to complete. At his father’s bedside, he meets Avishag, whose tenderness sparks a bond that deepens into love and marriage. But three years later, Solomon’s announcement that he will take an Egyptian princess as his wife shatters their harmony, exposing a fracture not only in their marriage but in their understanding of God’s covenant. Avishag faces a painful reckoning with the man she loves and the future he is choosing.
